Abel was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where he received his BFA in Theatre Performance from UT El Paso in 2016. Shortly after, he moved to Southern California and received his MFA in Acting from the University of California, Irvine in spring 2021. Abel is an actor as well as a part-time acting instructor at the Orange County School of The Arts (OCSA). He has acted professionally in Texas, California and West Virginia. Roles played for CounterBalance Theatre Co. include The Creature in Reading Frankenstein, Klembolo & The Two Headed Giant in Modjeska’s Wicked Fairytale, Smith & Judge Hayes in The Story of Biddy Mason. Marcos and Pedro (u/s) in the world premiere of One Of The Good Ones by Gloria Calderón Kellett at Pasadena Playhouse. Credits for the New Swan Shakespeare Festival (Irvine, CA) include Angelo in Measure for Measure, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Touchstone in As You Like It, Self in The Complete Works in William Shakespeare (Abridged, Revised, Redone), Dromio of Ephesus in The Comedy of Errors, Cleon in Pericles Prince of Tyre, Gobbo in The Merchant of Venice.
